Yes! Note that at our venue (Target Center) they don’t allow camera bags for some reason, but I brought a Sony A7iii and a lens and they encouraged the audience to take photos and even video of the event and to tag @DisneyOnIce because we could win some cool prizes or see our photos shared on their page!

So definitely bring your camera – just no camera bag or tripod.

How long do Disney on Ice shows typically last?

The length of a Disney on Ice show can vary, but most shows last between 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, including intermission. The exact length of a show can depend on several factors, including the theme, the number of acts, and the complexity of the skating routines. Some Disney on Ice shows may also include a pre-show or post-show meet and greet with the characters, which can add additional time to the overall event.

We arrived 30 minutes early and at about 15 minutes (pre-show) they had a couple people come out and interact with the crowd.

Pro-tip: get there early and stay late! Make it a fun activity and you’ll skip the bulk of the crowd if you’re even 15 minutes early or wait 15 minutes for the crowds to dispurse. You can walk around the arena after people are leaving. It’s pretty nifty.

It’s always a good idea to check the schedule for the show you’re interested in and confirm the start time and estimated length of the performance, as this information may vary based on the venue and production. You can find this information on the Disney on Ice website or by contacting the venue directly.

  2. Promotional offers: From time to time, Disney on Ice may offer promotional discounts or special deals on tickets. These offers can be found on the Disney on Ice website, through email newsletters, or on social media.
  3. Third-party websites: Third-party websites such as Groupon or LivingSocial may offer discounts on Disney on Ice tickets, but be aware that some of these sites may sell tickets that are not valid or may have additional restrictions. If you’re not buying tickets from the official website – use EXTRA caution and buyer beware.
  4. Box office: Sometimes, the box office at the venue where the show is taking place may have discounted tickets available for purchase in person.

What is the seating arrangement for Disney on Ice shows?

The seating arrangement for Disney on Ice shows can vary depending on the venue. Most venues have a rink-style setup, with seating around the edges of the ice rink. Similar to a hockey game, basketball game, etc.

Seating arrangements and ticket prices can vary based on the location of the seat and the view of the stage or rink. Premium seats, such as those in the front row or center section, may have a higher ticket price, while seats located further from the stage or rink may have a lower price.

It’s always a good idea to check the seating chart for the venue where the show is taking place, as this can give you a better understanding of the layout and help you choose the best seats for your needs. You can find a seating chart on the Disney on Ice website, or by contacting the venue directly.

What should I wear to a Disney on Ice show?

The dress code for a Disney on Ice show is generally casual and comfortable, and people typically wear clothing that is suitable for a fun, family-friendly event. Here are a few things to keep in mind when choosing your outfit:

  1. Comfort: Disney on Ice shows can be long, and you may be sitting in your seat for an extended period of time. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe easily.
  2. Chill: The room wasn’t cold, despite the show being on literal ICE – but you may want to bring a light jacket or sweater, as the venue is a little on the cooler side. Some people wore a jacket – but I didn’t see anyone wearing winter gloves or winter hats.
  3. Costumes: While you are not required to wear a costume, many people enjoy dressing up as their favorite Disney characters or wearing costumes related to the theme of the show. If you decide to wear a costume, make sure it is comfortable and does not impede your view or the view of those around you. So no giant hats please that block the person behind you – but before or after the show? Game on!

Remember, the most important thing is to be comfortable and have fun! Disney on Ice shows are all about enjoying the magic of Disney, and the atmosphere is typically relaxed and festive, so don’t worry about dressing up too much. Many kids are dressed up and even adults. So go wild! This is a place of Disney fans, you’ll fit right in. Let your inner princess or prince shine 🙂

Such vibrant colors!

Yes, food and drinks are typically available for purchase at Disney on Ice shows. Most venues that host Disney on Ice shows have concession stands that offer a variety of food and drink options, including snacks, candy, popcorn, soda, and bottled water. The menu and prices can vary based on the venue, but you can expect to find a range of food and drink options that are suitable for all ages.

It’s always a good idea to check with the venue or the Disney on Ice website to confirm the food and drink options that will be available at the show you’re attending.

Warning: most venues have restrictions on outside food and drink, so be sure to check the rules and regulations before you arrive. It’s kinda like a movie theater regarding rules for food.

If you have special dietary requirements, it’s always a good idea to check with the venue in advance to see if they have options that meet your needs.

How do I get to the venue for a Disney on Ice show?

Getting to the venue for a Disney on Ice show depends on where you are located and the location of the venue. Here are a few transportation options you can consider:

  1. Driving: If you have access to a car, driving to the venue can be a convenient option, especially if the venue has a large parking lot or garage. You can use a GPS or mapping app to get directions to the venue and plan your route ahead of time. Be sure to allow plenty of time for traffic and parking, as the area around the venue may be busy, especially on show days. We carpooled with a friend and parked at the Mayo Clinic Square Parking Ramp in Minneapolis MN which is a nice underground ramp (aka heated in the winter and cool in the summer) – and it has an elevator that takes you to the connected Skyway. It cost about $25 for the 3hrs.
  2. Public transportation: If you don’t have access to a car or prefer to use public transportation, you can use buses, trains, or subways to get to the venue. Many venues are located near public transportation stations, making it easy to get to the show. You can check the venue’s website or the public transportation authority in your area for schedules, routes, and fare information.
  3. Taxis, ride-sharing services, or car services: If you prefer door-to-door service, you can use a taxi, a ride-sharing service such as Uber or Lyft, or a car service to get to the venue. These options can be convenient, especially if you are traveling with a large group or with children, as you won’t have to worry about parking or navigating unfamiliar roads.

No matter how you choose to get to the venue, be sure to allow plenty of time to get to the show, especially if you are traveling during rush hour or on a busy show day. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead and check the venue’s website or contact the venue directly for information on transportation options and parking. If you get there 30 min early, you’ll be at the beginning of the rush.
